I grew up in the foot hills of the Adirondacks of NY. Spending my winters in Ft Walton Beach, FL.
I started working at a family owned "inn" called the Big Pine Inn, were I washed dishes in my youth. My first jobs out in the real world were at Ponderosa and Friendly's, both chain type places. Of course, as you know my aim was higher. I decided to try my smile with Walt Disney World Resort at the Grand Floridian Cafe. I felt it was time to move up another notch and left there to work in management for Darden Restaurants, which was China Coast then and later Olive Garden. I finally got back into serving with the Sheraton here in Seattle at The Pike Street Cafe. Left there to work for The Dinner Train for some time until I one day landed at the Space Needle. A short spell with Applebee's was in the middle there (no need to mention that really). A few years at Pino Bianco in NY. Then Earth and Ocean at the W. and now, here at 94.
In my free time I enjoy: Volleyball, Two dogs, Oil painting, Volunteer work, Hiking.
My view of service. "Andy is my name, food and booze is my game" I have always enjoyed serving, I hope that it shows. As we know, I am direct and to the point. It gets the job done and most people seem to appreciate it (Andy fits in well as we are all honest in everything we do at 94). Like Sushi and Martinis I am an aquired taste. I take pride in knowing a great deal about the food and wine that I am serving. I never hesitate to look things up when I do not know the answer, or if all else fails I can break down and ask one of my knowledgable co-workers, if it comes to that.
