It is finally cooling down (a little), and for many of us that is a sign that we should venture out into the streets for some entertainment. The Market was bustling today as I went on a run for some fresh seafood and lamb. The smell of peaches and the feel of sunshine and celebration has enveloped the entire area. Lunch at 94 sounds like a pretty enticing proposal to me today. -Z

Going out to dinner is such a nice thing to do on a balmy day. No surprise, 94 Stewart is the best place to go for such an occasion.Today we have tomato coconut soup and delicious home made tarts. Coconut Cherry, Pistachio Peach, Valrhona, and Hopscotch tarts, as well as Super Fresh Peach Cobbler culminate our desserts for the night. Did we mention we also have AC?

Q: What is cooler than a new pair of Converse hi tops, infinity pools, Barak Obama, tree mansions, Madonna (circa 1980's), black Am-Ex, first- class Virgin Air, Pop Rocks, vinyl, claymation, anarchy, unlimited txting, and the ability to breathe underwater?

A: Simple. The AC at 94 Stewart. Not only will stepping in the front door make you forget all about the New York Times, Andy Warhol, and The Beatles, but you will also forget that it is a million degrees outside and you are slowly burning alive in the Desert Oasis modernly known as Seattle.

And the coolness factor doesn't stop with our AC. Our soup of the day is so cool it makes Bob Dylan, Plasma T.V., and Scientology all members of the nerd herd. For nothing can stand up to Creamy Poblano with New Red Potato Soup. Yoko Ono tried, and did not succeed.

The Tarts are another kind of cool. A coolness in and of itself. Coconut Cherry, Pistachio Peach, Valrhona, and Hopscotch. And these lovelies aren't even pretentious! They actually want to be your friend. Your BFF to the very end and beyond. That kind of cool is for real.

Trends come and go, but real coolness lasts and never goes out of style. It's safe to say AC, Soup of the Day, and Tarts are here to stay.

Dear Mom,

I am writing this letter to let you know I am running away, and will not be coming home for a long, long time.
It's not because you were a bad mother, or that I don't love you; it's that I just can't love you as much as I love being at 94 Stewart.
My love for the Corn and Chicken Chowder far surpasses the way I have felt about any other soup of the day in my entire teenage life. You simply don't understand what that's like.
Also, I need to eat and be around tarts all the time. Chef at 94 Stewart always makes amazing mouth watering tarts that are the all time perfect study snack. I can't live without them. For instance, Fudge Pecan, Pistachio Peach, Blueberry with White Chocolate and Pink Peppercorn, Pedro Ximenez Cheesecake with Apricot Coulee, and Peach Crisp make your strudel surprise look so uncool. Sorry mom, but it's the truth.

Um, I am not sure what this has to do with 94 Stewart, exactly....... I should note that the theme of this very real day is "It won't work unless you wear it." While this should be the mantra for many of our actions throughout the course our everyday (and night) lives, let us move on to the point of this posting, which is the desserts and soups that we have for the day.

The thigh busting tarts are also making it big onto the summer scene of 09' with a luscious assortment of Caramel Spice, Double Valrhona, Peanut Butter Filled Fudge, Pedro Ximenez Cheesecake with Apricot Coulee, and Peach Crisp. These babies practically burn off their own calories with the guaranteed dance party that happens in the mouth of all who try them.

It's a scorcher outside ladies and gentlemen.
And the forecast looks to be gearing up for the big storm of 09' with a cool breeze of tarts making their way in across the sound.
A huge tidal wave of lime tarts and caramel spice tarts are also coming right at us. In the midst of all this the chances of it raining Caramel Pecan, Double Valrhona and Peanut Butter Filled Fudge tarts is 100%.
Reports of an apricot maple cream cobbler tornado have also been confirmed. Oddly enough, it seems every single person in the vicinity is a storm chaser and will not keep their distance.
And fasten your seat belts folks, because to top it all off, a massive hurricane of fresh local raspberries and blueberries drizzled with pineapple cream caramel, Greek yogurt and pistachios is coming and well on it's way. Weather scientists have decided to name the level 4 storm, "Hurricane Athena". God help us.

In Sports, it looks like Tomato Coconut has won the soup of the day championships.

Maybe you've seen them as you pass by on the steep incline of Steward Street. Relaxing comfortably on colorful plates, our homemade tarts look out from their catbird seats into the world around them. Along the sidewalk, people's mouths appear as fluffy clouds across the horizon. Our tarts dream of being truly free. Of leaping out into the sky, and nestling themselves inside this warm tableau...

Soup of the day, Mr. Seafood Chowder (with bacon, crab, clams, and shrimp), guesses the showdown will be one to go down in the history books.

So super sorry for not posting the blog yesterday! The heat must have gone straight to our heads. Thankfully, the skies are now overcast and we have a chance to start thinking (and blogging) properly again.

If you remember, it's the end of our week and we are serving Sunday Supper tonight. Diners who come in are able to choose individual dishes, or combine three amazing courses for only thirty dollars. It's a great way to sample a variety of what we have to offer for a fraction of the regular price.

So come on in, eat some amazing and fresh food, and celebrate the best of what life has to offer.

I know it feels like the world is falling apart, but it's in these trying times that a good bistro can make all the bad fade away. For instance, Michael Jackson died (so did a couple of other less famous "celebrities"), but what better way to forget about em' all than with summer chicken with basil, sweet yellow pepper, squash, carrot, and coconut cream soup for the soul?

How could I have been so blind not to have noticed you right in front of me this whole time? Chef Celinda, you are the love I have been seeking.

And to think that anyone but you could make a caramel fudge, strawberry fudge, blueberry swirl, caramel coconut, or peanut butter filled chocolate tart was such a ridiculous notion it somehow made sense before now.

I need you. Let's swim in your spicy tomato coconut soup of the day. Let's frolic through 94 Stewart and write love poems to each other on all the tables.

Lady Chef, will you marry me? Love is a many, splendid thing. So are your tarts. So are your soups. So are you.

The boy and girl from Pike Place Market shall never be together if it be my will. My jealousy cannot allow such a blissful union. Something must be done. I have a feeling the only thing in my way is 94 Stewart. They are just too good at casting love spells with their delectable tarts and exceptional soups. It's rumored their menu is an aphrodisiac in and of itself. That tricky chef has poison love darts up her sleeve in the guise of Ginger Spice, Turtle Tart, Caramel Coconut, Strawberry Fudge, Caramel Fudge, Blueberry Swirl and Peanut Butter Filled Chocolate. Disgusting.

Furthermore, her sweet corn chowder with lime and cilantro is undoubtedly going to be a tough love cookie to crumble.

The stakes are high, and the possibility of young true love is far too probable at this point, thanks to 94 S.

But I will not give up, not for a million shares of Google or all the Michael Jackson jokes in the world.
